Noivedya's Home

I’m a student of Sri Chinmoy, based in Canberra, Australia. I am a writer (a great job if you don't have a mortgage and only eat a few times a month), and some of my work can be found on my writer's website.

You can also read my blog, The World of Noivedya, which talks about everything connected (however vaguely) to the spiritual life.

My other blog, Wishful Thinking, talks about everything else.

I have also written articles about Sri Chinmoy Centre activities.

If you've never seen this page before... pleased to meet you!

THINGS I LIKE

Sri Chinmoy’s activities

Ice cream

Finishing a marathon

Beatles music

All-time favourite TV show: Doctor Who

All-time favourite movie: Singin’ in the Rain

All-time favourite movie or TV show that doesn’t actually exist: Doctor Who Sings in the Rain

All-time favourite thing: Self-transcendence

THINGS I DON’T LIKE (so don't expect any links!)

Jelly beans

The 30km point in a marathon when someone says “Almost finished!” and you’re not

People who are mean to other people for no reason

People who punch other people for no reason

People who act unreasonably for no reason

People who stand up while you’re watching a really powerful scene in a video (like the final scene of Dead Poet’s Society) and jump up and down shouting “Awoogah! Awoogah!” because they think they’re being really clever.
(Fortunately, I don’t know anyone like this – but just thinking about the possibility makes me mad!)

Daleks (I don’t care if you’re from an evil, tyrannical, alien race. Going around shouting “Exterminate!” in a grating metallic voice just isn’t very nice, now is it?)
